Use Friendliness, Caring and a Desire to Help Others
to Build a Successful Business

Who do we all like to do business with?

The answer is people we know, like and trust.

How is a successful business model created?

By understanding what a niche group of people want and creating a value that they are willing to exchange money for.

How can anyone in business stand out from competitors, gain market share and be seen as a leader in their industry?

Sincerely care about the outcome your niche market gains from using your service or product.

Help this tight nice group overcome their challenges by carefully listening. Then offer  good advice that utilizes your talent, knowledge and passion to its fullest.

Once you have a new client, offer to continuously help, as situations warrants, in a warm, friendly, genuinely compassionate way.

The Zig Ziglar quote, “You can have everything in life that you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want,” is a great reminder of where to focus.

Be yourself when you’re talking business.

When writing, many people talk one way, yet modify their authentic voice when they sit down to write.

They basically freeze and are not able to project their feelings, personality and ideas into the document they are creating. As a result, their writing falls on deaf ears because their voice is not authentic.

The same thing happens when people start taking business.

They feel like they have to be someone else, instead of the talented, knowledgeable, friendly, creative person they truly are inside.

Seth Godins’ direction on the cover of his book Permission Marketing provides a great business building idea. “Turn strangers into friends and friends into customers.”

If you’re going to make new friends what’s the first thing you need to be?

Friendly and authentic is the answer. Friends truly care about another person’s outcome, business and life.

Take your sales hat off.

Understand the challenge your prospect (the stranger) wants to solve by listening; just like you were listening to a friend.

Show them how you can help solve the challenge they’re facing by offering ideas they cannot see.

Ask if they’d like to partner with you to overcome the challenge.

Here’s why this method works.

You were concerned enough to listen. You offered good advice. You turned a stranger into a friend by authentically caring. You just made a sale. Keep following this process and your sales will soar.

You’ll also notice more happiness and satisfaction creeping into your life at the same time.
