Observe Yourself

Have you ever noticed how easy it is to see the answer to other people’s problems?

Yet when confronted with problems of your own, is it next to impossible to have that same clarity and focus.

The reason is simply perspective and emotion.

When you look at someone else’s challenge, you can observe; seeing their situation from a detached and lofty view. It’s easy to say, “Hey, look at this. You can solve that problem easily this way."

Your comment is usually met with “Huh” or similar detached response. The person you’re advising is mired in the challenge. They cannot see the solution from your 30,000 foot view.

What we can all learn from this idea is that it takes personal observation from a lofty view and a detached perspective to find the answers to life’s challenges.

Use this formula to solve your own challenges.

When a problem comes up in your business or life, do you take the lofty view, observe the challenge and yourself reacting to it and formulate a solution that works?

Or do you allow yourself to get mired in the challenge and feel hopelessly stuck?

Understanding how you react to challenges allows you to solve them quickly.

When I help someone discover the career of their dreams, I use this same formula. I can see them and their career from a lofty, detached view so it’s easy to provide ideas and direction.

The next time a challenge arises follow these steps:

1. Step out of your challenge for a minute.

2. Look at is from a lofty, detached perspective; as if you were viewing yourself as an outsider looking in.

3. Formulate a solution based on the facts of the situation; as if you were giving someone else advice.

4. Write down the ideas you have, pick one that makes the most sense and feels good to you, and execute the solution to solve your problem.

5. Remember, there is no right or wrong answer. We live in a physical world and movement (energy) is the only way ideas turn into results.

Try it the next time you’re stuck. See the speed in which you are back on track and moving in productive direction.
