Integrated Power Thinking
Most people wake up,
react to what happens during the day, remain stuck in a routine rut,
and repeat this process day in and day out.
Then they wonder, “Why am I so darn bored with my life?
Instinctively you know there’s a better way to think. You sense that
using the full power of your total consciousness is a more complete
thought process. Conscious thinking is called Integrated
Power Thinking.
The Power Thinking concept is taught by author Mark Hamilton in his
Neo-Tech material. Mark demonstrates that human beings think in
metaphors and analog models.
If you think of
California, you’ll probably see a map of the state or picture the
ocean in your mind. This powerful thought process is thinking by
using analog models.
Hamilton explains that when dealing with challenges or achievements
in your life, “picturing” what you want rather than writing down the
words will have greater impact and help you achieve the result
quicker. Thinking in visual imagery, for our purposes here, is
called Power Thinking.
Have you ever told someone to “Picture this…”
If you have ever sold
anything successfully you know that creating mental pictures for
prospects of the benefits they will receive by purchasing your
product or service is a powerful way to close the deal.
Here's how to use Integrated Power
Thinking as a profoundly powerful method for business planning.
First, see a picture in your mind of what you want from your
business.
This is not
pie-in-the-sky dreaming but actually deciding by imagining what you
want from your business. It’s a decision you are making.
After you’ve made the decision of what you want in your business,
picture the steps that got you there.
See as many of the
steps as you can. The more effort you put into gaining a clear
picture the easier it will be to take action. You have now
“integrated” steps into your power thinking analog model.
Now draw a picture on paper of the overall goal and steps you
pictured in your mind. This is often called “Mind Mapping.”
Then schedule the steps to reach the “Vision” of your business by a
certain time. Schedule each step, starting at the beginning and work
forward until you have achieved the big picture.
Finally, take action each day to reach that destination. Small
steps, taken every day reap big rewards over time.
If you say you cannot do this; you’re right.
It’s probably too much
hard thinking to do for most people. The majority will always remain
stuck in the rut they are in now.
This idea is only for the top 20% of people who are ready to break
free of the boring rut, make decisions on what they want, and go for
it consistently.
